DELHI POLICE BUSTED INTERSTATE NARCOTICS DRUG CARTEL, 4 KGS. HEROIN MEANT TO BE DELIVERED IN DELHI SEIZED, INDULGED IN ILLEGAL DRUG TRAFFICKING FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS.

A team of Special Cell/Southern Range led by Inspr. Pawan Kumar and Inspr. Satvinder under the supervision of ACP Ved Parkash has busted an Interstate narcotic drug cartel by arresting one key member namely Animesh Sarkar @ Rinku (age 40 years) r/o Village Niyogi Nagar, Post Kumbhira, Distt. Malda, West Bengal.
Accused Animesh Sarkar @ Rinku was apprehended from near Mayur Vihar DND Toll Plaza, New Delhi at about 09:45PM on 22/08/2024 by the team. Total 04 Kgs. Heroin was recovered from the accused person. Recovered heroin was sourced from Manipur based drug suppliers and was to be delivered to drug traffickers in Delhi/NCR. Accused person had concealed the contraband drug in his bag.
A team of Special Cell was working on information that an Interstate narcotic drug cartel is active in the states of Manipur, Assam, West Bengal and Delhi/NCR. Members of this cartel were involved in supplying heroin from cross border area Myanmar side to various parts of the country including Delhi NCR.
Mr. Amit Kaushik, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, said, accused Animesh Sarkar @ Rinku was born in 1984. He is residing in Village Niyogi Nagar, Post Kumbhira, Distt. Malda, West Bengal with his family. He studied upto 4th standard and after that he had to quit his studies due to poor financial conditions of family. During his interrogation, he disclosed that he is a member of a drug syndicate involved in trafficking drugs from cross border Myanmar side to different parts of India.
On 22.08.2024, a specific information was received by Inspr. Pawan Kumar and Inspr. Satvinder that member of above said cartel namely Animesh Sarkar has collected a big consignment of Heroin from Imphal, Manipur and would deliver it to his Delhi based contacts near Mayur Vihar DND Toll Plaza, New Delhi around 09:00 - 10:00 PM on 22.08.2024. Accordingly, a trap was laid at above said place. At about 09:40 PM an auto/TSR arrived from Crown Plaza, Mayur Vihar side and stopped just 50 meters prior to DND Toll Plaza, Mayur Vihar, Delhi.
A person alighted from the auto was identified as Animesh Sarkar. He was surrounded and overpowered by the raiding team later. On checking, total 04 Kg Heroin was recovered from his possession. A case under the appropriate sections of law was registered at PS Special Cell in this regard.
BACKGROUND & CRIMINAL HISTORY

Malda, West Bengal with his family. He studied upto 4th standard and after that he had to quit his studies due to poor financial conditions of family.
During his interrogation, he disclosed that he is a member of a drug syndicate involved in trafficking drugs from cross border Myanmar side to different parts of India. He further told that he has been indulged in supplying of heroin for the last three years and has previously supplied drugs to different parties of West Bengal, Bihar and Delhi NCR.
Accused is a truck driver and smuggles narcotic drugs from Manipur in trucks. Accused has disclosed that the recovered consignment of narcotic drugs heroin were meant to be delivered to their Delhi based contacts.
Further interrogation of arrested drug suppliers is in progress to identify their remaining associates and members of the syndicate.
