20TH ADMINISTRATOR’S CHALLENGE CUP ALL INDIA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT FOR BOYS U-17 YEARS FROM NOV. 20

The prestigious All India Football Tournament will take off tomorrow. The opening ceremony will be held at Sports Complex, Sector-46, Chandigarh at 2:30 P.M.

17 prominent teams from all over India will vie for the top honours in the 9 days’ spectacular and gala event. The tournament will be played on league-cum-knockout basis. The 17 teams have been put in four pools and will be fighting on league basis in their respective pools, for their place to be amongst four top teams (1 top team from every pool) to play semi finals on knockout basis to reach the finals. The matches will be played at Sports Complexes, Sector-46 and Sector-42, Chandigarh. The finale and closing ceremony will be held at Sports Complex, Sector-46, Chandigarh on 28.11.2024.

(SUBHEAD)This coveted tournament was the brain child of Lt. Gen. JFR Jacob (Retd.) Former Governor Punjab-cum-Administrator U.T., Chandigarh who was passionate to raise the standard of Football in India to the elite level. This 20th tournament entails the popularity and augmented level by leaps & bounds over the years. The tournament carries a magnificent Administrator’s Cup made of pure silver as well as cash prize of Rs.3 Lac, Rs. 2 Lac, Rs. 1 Lac and Rs. 50,000/- for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places respectively.

The participating players and officials will be provided free boarding & lodging and travelling expenses. Elaborate arrangements for accommodation, food, local transport and medical etc. have been made for the comfortable stay of the participants.

The requisite medical tests for age determination were carried out for each participating player, meticulously in a transparent manner. All Managers’ meeting was held today with the organizers for discussion of various modalities of the tournament.
