The suspicious death of two foreign students of high ranking caused sensation in the area as the accused after murdering his batchmate Tanzanian student Nuru Mari , later accused Zambian student Savier Chikopella, committed suicide by hanging himself in a police lockup in Kharar.
Senior officers of Mohali police reached Kharar Police Station and started investigation into the matter. Savier Chikopella was arrested on Wednesday for the murder of Tanzanian student Nuru Mari. According to police, the incident occurred due to a dispute between the two.
The accused Savir Chikopella was kept at Sunny Enclave police station in Kharar.
Information available the accused the accused suicide by hanging himself from the bars of the lockup at around 1 pm on Wednesday night.
The police immediately rushed him to the Civil Hospital, Kharar, where doctors declared him brought dead.
