DELHI POLICE BUSTED FAKE CURRENCY RACKET: FAKE CURRENCY OF RS. 17 LACS RECOVERED, FOUR ARRESTED

The team of Special Staff Outer North District achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting three persons involved in pumping and circulating Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICNS). FICNs equivalent to 17,01,500 (including FICNs printed on A4 sheets) were recovered from their possession. One accused is already involved in a FICN case registered at Lucknow (U.P). He is also convicted in an attempt to murder case of Shahabad Dairy

Police said On 13.11.2024, secret information was received by the Special Staff/Outer North District regarding “a member of a syndicate related to counterfeit Indian currency notes would come to the temporary bus stand near the main road SDM office in Naya Bans village and would supply a large amount of counterfeit Indian currency notes to his accomplice.”

Acting swiftly on the secret information, a raiding team was constituted under the leadership of Inspr. Pawan Yadav, I/c Special Staff, consisting of SI Rakesh Kumar, HC Deepak, HC Sudheer, and HC Ashutosh, under the overall supervision of Sh. Yash Pal Singh, ACP/OPS. 

During the raid, SI Rakesh Kumar, along with the staff, apprehended an accused named Vikash Bhardwaj, S/o Raj Kumar, R/o H. No. 109, Village Khera Khurd, Delhi, Age 42 years, along with a bag. During the search of his bag, a total of 399 notes of denomination ₹500 counterfeit Indian currency notes were recovered.

(SUBHEAD)The details of the notes are as follows: 106 notes of serial No. 9MN 689001, 103 notes of serial No. 9MN 689002, 105 notes of serial No. 9MN 689003a, and 85 notes of serial No. 9MN 689004. During the investigation, all the counterfeit notes were seized through a seizure memo and a case vide FIR No. 1048/24 U/S 179/180/61(2)A BNS was registered at PS NIA. 

Further investigation of the case was entrusted to SI Sanjeet Singh who, along with his team, during the further course of investigation, arrested two accomplices of accused Vikash, namely Satyam Singh, S/o Harikesh Singh, R/o Village Chakarout, Teh & PS Karnailganj Distt Gonda UP, Age 24 years, and Sachin, S/o Chander Bhan, R/o Village Kadrahan Purva, Teh-Tarab Ganj, Distt-Gonda, U.P., Age 24 years. FICNs equivalent to ₹20,000 were recovered on their instances by technical surveillance and trapping. 

During further investigation, working on technical data analysis and surveillance, SI Sanjeet and his team raided Khoda Colony, Ghaziabad, UP, and arrested one more accused, namely Anurag Sharma, S/o Vipin Kumar, R/o Sirouli Road near Sharkari Hospital, Rajender Nagar Ward No. 8, Meerganj Bareilly, UP, Age 22 years, from his rented room at Khoda Colony, Ghaziabad, UP. FICNs worth ₹2.4 lakhs, along with 2 bundles of A4 size sheets on which ₹500 FICNs were printed (total 621 sheets) equivalent to 12,42,000, 1 laptop, 1 color printer, 2 laminators, 1 paper cutting machine, 9 bundles of A4 size papers, 1 Gandhi's stamp for making watermarks, some paper cutters, one paper pressurizing machine, and other items used in printing FICNs were recovered from his room. 

KNOW THE ACCUSED:  Vikash Bhardwaj, S/o Raj Kumar, R/o H. No. 109, Village Khera Khurd, SP Badli, Delhi, Age 42 years already involved in a FICN case in Lucknow, U.P. He is also convicted in an attempt to murder case of Shahabad Dairy (main supplier of FICNs). Satyam Singh, S/o Harikesh Singh, R/o Village Chakarout, Teh & PS Karnailganj, Distt Gonda UP, Age 19 years (supplier of FICNs). Sachin, S/o Chander Bhan, R/o Village Kadrahan Purva, Teh-Tarab Ganj, Distt-Gonda, U.P., Age 24 years (supplier of FICNs). Anurag Sharma, S/o Vipin Kumar, R/o Sirouli Road near Sharkari Hospital, Rajender Nagar Ward No. 8, Meerganj Bareilly, UP, Age 22 years (who used to print FICNs at his rented room). 

RECOVERY: A total of 919 ₹500 FICNs, along with 621 A4 size sheets of FICNs (total worth 17,01,500), 1 laptop, 1 color printer, 2 laminators, 1 paper cutting machine, 9 bundles of A4 size papers, 1 Gandhi's stamp for making watermarks, some paper cutters, one paper pressing machine, and other items used in printing FICNs. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
