UT GIRLS BEAT MIZORAM BY 101 RUNS IN U23 T20, FACED 224 RUNS DEFEAT AGAINST MAHARASHTRA IN U19 ODI.

UT girls registered their second consecutive win at the ongoing Women's Under 23 T20 being played at Jamshedpur on Monday as Chandigarh beat Mizoram convingly by 101 runs. Chandigarh opted to bat first and scored 138/3 wherein wicketkeeper batter Sarah (43) and Bhavana Rathore (39) made vital contributions. In reply, Mizoram fell early at mere 37 runs against the lethal bowling attack led by Ishana Chaddha (3/4), Pushpa Bishnoi (3/4) and Mannu (2/11).

Half the team went back without troubling the score while Rinsaimi (8) was the top scorer. Chandigarh's next match is scheduled against Tamil Nadu on January 8.

Meanwhile, in the Women's Under 19 ODI tournament being played at Surat, Chandigarh faced a humiliating defeat of 224 runs against Maharashtra. In reply to Maharashtra's 287/6, UT girls were bundled out for just 63 runs. Jasmeet Baidwan (16) emerged as the top scorer. The team will face Mizoram in its third match on January 8.
