NGO TAMMANA CELEBERATES LOHRI FESTIVAL WITH SPECIAL CHILDREN AT AASHRAY HOME

Dressed in bright Phulkaris, Members at NGO Tammana, a dedicated non-profit organization, organized a vibrant Lohri celebration at Aashray Home for the specially abled, in Sector 47, Chandigarh. The event embraced the spirit of inclusivity by hosting 80 differently abled , including residents from Ashray Home & also from Samarth Jiyo. Isha Kakaria, the Founder President, expressed the profound purpose behind the event.

“Our primary objective is to raise awareness about disability inclusivity, fostering increased participation in socially expected life roles and activities. Autism spectrum disorder is a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave. Described as a “developmental disorder” because symptoms generally appear in the first two years of life.”

The venue resonated with the beats of a lively Dhol, setting the platform for everyone to revel in the joyous occasion. The festivities continued with traditional folk songs sung by all, creating an atmosphere of unity and celebration. All were treated to tea and refreshments around the ceremonial bonfire.

Meenakshi Mahajan, Office Coordinator and a longstanding member, highlighted Tammana’s 16+ years of dedicated service to society.
