CADETS PAY TRIBUTE TO THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS

Brig Saikat Rai, Deputy General Officer in Command HQ Punjab,Haryana & HP (I) Sub Area, flagged off the NCC Cycle Expedition from Ambala cantt today. The expedition, themed “Bharat Ke Veer: Ek Shaurya Gatha”, aims to foster patriotism and honor the freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices for India's independence.

On the occasion, Brig Rai informed that the rally commenced from Hussainiwala on January 7, 2025, has been covering a distance of 710 km over 14 days, passing through historic locations in Punjab and Haryana. The team of 25, led by Col Somvir Singh Dabas, consists of 12 NCC cadets, including six girl cadets, along with five army instructors and ANO Ranjit Singh and ANO Sushma Devi.

Earlier, Brig Vikas Rai Shandiliya, Group Commander NCC Group Ambala Cantt, flagged in the rally at Ambala Cantt on January 15, 2025. During the stay at Ambala, the team paid tribute to Maj Dhan Singh Thapa, PVC, for his remarkable contribution in the India-China war-1962 and visited Ambala's 1857 War Memorial, paying tributes to freedom fighters who participated in the First War of Independence.At Shaheedi Smarak, the team took an oath to serve the nation with utmost courage and honesty, honoring the supreme sacrifices made by India's heroes.

The expedition will culminate in New Delhi, where the team will participate in the prestigious Prime Minister's Rally, marking a significant milestone in the celebration of the 76th Republic Day.
