Former Zira MLA and District Congress Committee (DCC) President Kulbir Zira had been allegedly attacked by few unidentified miscreant in an incident which took place yesterday late night when he was going to Zira from Ferozepur near Sher Khan village, around 12 kms away from the district headquarter.

(MOREPIC1)(SUBHEAD)While divulging details, Kulbir Zira said that yesterday night he was coming back from Ferozepur. “When our car reached near Sher Khan village, my driver said that a Creta car has been continuously following us. We stopped our vehicle near the village and the car which had been following us also stopped just behind. Then, I told my driver to speedup the car but the other car continuesly followed us and suddenly someone started firing, targeting my car. Overall six rounds were fired on my car.

“I have been receiving threats from the gangsters in the past also but what to say. The state government has failed to provide a secure environment. Even the police stations are being attacked which is matter of extreme concern”, said Kulbir adding that he has provided the CCTV footage of the car which had been following him.

SP (D) Randhir Kumar said that yesterday night the police had received a call on emergency number 112. “The police is verifying the facts and investigating the matter”, said SP (D).
