Veteran socialite and philanthropist Bhojraj Mittal, who had organised free eye operation camps in a large number died at his residence here last night.
He was father of Dr. Gauri Shankar Mittal, chairman of Meera Nursing College and Sardar Patel Nursing College, and Ram Prakash Mittal, president of Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha.
His last rites were performed on Saturday at the main Shivpuri on Indira Nagari Road, where hundreds of dignitaries expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
Bhojraj Mittal, who always remained at the forefront in religious activities also, was the grandfather of Dr. Sahil Mittal, head of the Yuva Aggarwal Sabha and chief editor of Jung-e-Samachar newspaper.
On his demise, Punjab BJP chief Sunil Kumar Jakhar, MLA Sandeep Jakhar, Mayor Vimal Thatai, Gaushala president Faquir Chand Goyal and representatives of various social, religious and political organizations expressed grief.
Wreaths were placed on the pyre on behalf of Bharat Vikas Parishad and Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha.
