CHANDIGARH OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION FELICITATED MEDAL WINNERS OF 38TH NATIONAL GAMES HELD AT UTTRAKHAND

Chandigarh Olympic Association in collaboration with Chandigarh  Sports  Council  felicitated the medal winners of 38th National  Games held at Uttrakhand from 28th January to 14 February 2025. The medal winners of UT Chandigarh along with their coaches were felicitated by Chandigarh Olympic Association in Collaboration with Chandigarh Sports council at Conference hall Hockey Stadium.                  

The President of COA Dr Anmol Rattan Sidhu senior Advocate and former Advocate General Punjab along with Director Sports UT Chandigarh  Sorabh Kumar Arora, PCS gave away the momentous and prizes to the medal winners from the games Taekwondo ,Judo, Weightlifting, Yogasana, Boxing, Wrestling, Wushu, Kabaddi  and Fencing.                                                       

(MOREPIC1)(SUBHEAD)Chandigarh stood at 21st Position by winning four Gold, six silver and Nine bronze medals a total of 19 medals.Speaking on the occasion Director Sports emphasis to work more on individuals and create more facilities and infrastructure for them so that in future these players have better training equipment and facilities and they can target more medals for the city beautiful.

Dr Anmol Rattan Sidhu congratulated the players and coaches for working hard and bring laurels for the city beautiful. He praises for their fabulous show in these prestigious games, the medal winners were honored and presented sweets. He said he will work for the upliftment of the UT players in association with UT Sports department and will raise voice to create more opportunities for the UT players to get job in UT only on sports basis. He praises the work done by Chef de Mission Rajiv Sharma during the National Games at Uttrakhand with Dy CDM KDS Nagra and Secretary General COA N.S Thakur.

He said that UT has immense sporting talent and it needs to be nurtured at the grassroots level. Dr Mahinder Singh joint director Sports, Shri NS Thakur Secretary General COA, Jugraj Singh Joint Secretary COA and KD.S Nagra, Darshan Lal Wrestling Coach, Amarjit Singh Senior basketball Coach , Vivek Thakur Judo Coach and Rajiv Sharma Secretary Chandigarh Rowing association, Kanwaldeep Singh from Weight lifting and Munish Sharma from fencing were among the dignitaries present during the occasion at conference hall hockey stadium sector 42 here today.
