RAJEEV MEHTA CLINCHES BRONZE AT MASTERS NATIONAL BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 AT GOA

The Masters National Badminton Championship 2025, held in Goa from March 16 to March 23, witnessed remarkable performances from top badminton players across the country. Among the standout achievers was Colonel Rajeev Mehta of Chandigarh, who secured a bronze medal in the 60+ Men’s Doubles category alongside his partner Umesh Kumar. The duo showcased exceptional skill and determination, defeating prominent players from other states to claim the third-place finish.

A former national-level badminton player, Col Rajeev Mehta has been a consistent performer in the Masters category. He has previously represented India at the World Badminton Championships in Spain (2021) and South Korea (2023), further solidifying his reputation as a top-tier competitor.

(SUBHEAD)Several other Chandigarh players also made their mark at the championship: Deepak Saxena won silver in the 50+ Mixed Doubles category. Pankaj Naithani secured bronze in both the 40+ Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories.Satinder Malik and Sahil Kataria earned bronze in the 35+ Men’s Singles category. ala Gaba clinched bronze in both the 40+ Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories.

Selection for World Badminton Championship

Based on their stellar performances, all the above-mentioned players from Chandigarh have been selected to represent India at the World Badminton Championship in Thailand, scheduled for September 2025.

Recognizing their achievements, the Chandigarh Badminton Association has announced that all these players will be suitably honored for bringing laurels to the city and inspiring upcoming athletes.
