The Chandigarh Horse Riders Society (CHRS) has once again asserted its position as a rising force in Indian equestrian sports with remarkable performances at two of the country’s most prestigious events — the National Qualifier for the Junior National Equestrian Championship (JNEC) and the Delhi Horse Show 2025, held from April 3-13, 2025 at Delhi Cantt.
As the only club in the region officially affiliated with the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI), CHRS continues to provide a vital platform for young equestrians aspiring to compete at the national level. This exclusive status allows its riders to participate in EFI-sanctioned competitions, making CHRS the gateway to professional equestrian careers in the Chandigarh–Mohali region.
(SUBHEAD)The Delhi Horse Show drew top riders from across the country for over two decades and witnessed an outstanding performance by CHRS riders. With over 400 entries and up to 100 riders competing in each event, CHRS secured a remarkable total of 20 medals across both individual and team events in Show Jumping and Dressage.
Among the standout performers was Sifat, who clinched a gold medal in the Open 40 Jumping (Under 14) and added two silver medals in the Open 70 Jumping and Ladies Hacks. Zaina also impressed with her consistency by winning gold in both the Open 50 Jumping and Ladies Hacks along with a silver in the Open 40 Jumping. Kabir outclassed in the under-10 category by earning silver in the Open 40 Jumping and gold in the Open 50 Jumping. Mankirat clinched gold in the Open 70 Jumping while Vishal earned a bronze in the highly competitive Open 100 Jumping. In the Open Hacks event, Saavia, Zaina and Sifat shared a joint bronze. Rubaiyat added to the tally with bronze medals in the Ladies Hacks and Group-2 Hacks.
CHRS also delivered strong performances in team events. Saavia and Anhad secured silver in the Jumping Group-2 while Saavia further contributed with silver medals in both the Group-2 Dressage individual and team events. Inderveer added to the medal haul with a silver in the 95 Open Jumping Top Score.
At the National Qualifier, CHRS fielded a team of 10 riders and 8 horses. Among them, two standout performers — Sifat Hans and Saavia Kaur Sidhu qualified in both Show Jumping and Dressage disciplines.
Looking ahead, CHRS is gearing up for a promising season, with two riders already qualified for the Junior Nationals and a series of strong performances adding to its growing reputation. Since its inception in 2003, CHRS has trained nearly 3,000 riders and hosted several national and regional events including the EFI-approved Regional Equestrian League and the National Equestrian Championship in Tent Pegging.
As a non-profit organization run by volunteers, CHRS is committed to making equestrian sport accessible and inclusive. It not only provides professional coaching and competition exposure but also fosters values such as discipline, responsibility and a deep appreciation for animals and nature.
