Abohar MLA Sandeep Jakhar took a lead in submitting proposals for the Rangla Punjab Vikas Scheme. He, along with Mayor Vimal Thatai, met Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu and listed 42 proposals for consideration.

Jakhar recommended that CCTV cameras should be installed at sensitive points as there had been a spurt in incidents of chain and purse snatchings. All the Dharmshalas need renovation. Street lights will be strengthened across the town.

(SUBHEAD)All the parks should be equipped with open Gyms. Libraries need to be opened in urban colonies and some villages to help youth prepare for professional careers, this shall also be instrumental to keep them away from any kind of addiction. Stadium and community halls deserved funds for renovation. He said that the Rangla Punjab Vikas Scheme should be fairly implemented.

He said that no School of Eminence had been approved for Abohar. In the past 30 months, our demand to appoint a regular Commissioner for the Abohar Municipal Corporation had not been accepted. The Sub-divisional Administrative Complex (mini secretariat) project lay uncompleted. Abha Square was planned to give the town uplift but the state government did not release the required money. Even the PSPCL was demanding Rs 1.50 crore from the Corporation to issue power connections even when the MC had no funds to do patch work on the potholed roads, he said.
