TWO INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED BY AMRITSAR RURAL POLICE FOR SHARING INTELLIGENCE WITH PAKISTAN

In a significant counter-espionage operation, Amritsar Rural Police arrested two persons for their alleged role in leaking sensitive information and photographs of Army Cantonment areas and Air Bases in Amritsar.

The arrested duo identified as with the arrest of two individuals identified as Falaksher Masih, son of Jinder Masih, and Suraj Masih, son of Chuga Masih, both residents of Balarhwal, PS Ajnala, were transmitting sensitive intelligence to Pakistan’s intelligence agency. 

Police teams have also recovered two mobile phones from their possession. 

Preliminary investigation reveals their links to Pakistani intelligence operatives, established through Harpreet Singh alias Pittu alias Happy, currently lodged in Amritsar Central Jail.

SSP Amritsar Rural Maninder Singh said that based on a confidential input received by the SHO of Police Station Ajnala, it was revealed that accused Falaksher Masih and Suraj Masih were in contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency. Both were involved in collecting and transmitting crucial information such as army movements, location of BSF camps, location of airports, photographs, and other sensitive data to their handlers in Pakistan, he said. 

Taking swift action, FIR No. 92 dated 03.05.2025 was registered at Police Station Ajnala under Sections 3, 5, and 9 of the Official Secrets Act, Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, and Section 61(2) of BNS.

The arrested individuals are being thoroughly interrogated. If any further involvement of others comes to light during the investigation, strict action will be taken against them.
