ABOHAR NGOS READY TO WORK SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH SECURITY FORCES

At a gathering in Arorvansh Dharamshala here offered NGOs expressed readiness to work shoulder to shoulder with security forces in the present situation.

Chief guest MLA Sandeep Jakhar said that this not only reflects the high morale of the people of the area but is also a symbol of loyalty towards the saviors of the borders. Mayor Vimal Thatai said that by bringing the organizations together, Abohar gives a strong message of unity and patriotism. Madan Lal Bhalotia of Shri Ram Sharnam and Gaushala President Fakir Chand Goyal said that NGOs have also stood up to the occasion.

(SUBHEAD)Raj Sadosh, while sharing the memories of the previous wars, said that in 1962, when China attacked India, a poetic symposium was organized in Abohar to inculcate the spirit of patriotism by establishing Lekhak Parishad headed by eminent poet Harish Himani. When Major Surendra Prasad was martyred in the 1965 war, 25 social workers from Abohar, led by Mathura Das Hiteshi and Tara Chand Pujari, went to Khemkaran Sector to boost the morale of the army and presented gifts. In 1971, Bangladesh Relief Committee was formed under the leadership of Balram Jakhar and educationist Narayan Das Grover to collect funds.

Hiteshi Foundation representative Vandana Sukhija said that women power is also determined to fulfill their duty in the present situation.

All the dignitaries praised social worker Praveen Chawla for compiling a directory of 170 NGOs and released the same. Bharat Goyal thanked NGOs for unity.
