Tightening the noose around drug peddlers under the state government’s ongoing campaign “War Against Drugs,” the police today demolished the house of a drug smuggler at Nihala Kilcha village in this border district.
While divulging details, SSP Bhupinder Singh said that they had received a complaint that the accused Joginder Singh alias Shammi had allegedly encroached the land of provincial government and constructed illegal house on it.
“Joginder had been booked in 29 cases of NDPS Act besides he was involved in several incidents of robbery. He was presently lodged in Bathinda jail. His relatives including in brother Sonu besides other family members are also involved in drug smuggling and other illegal activities”, said SSP
The operation took place today afternoon in the presence of hundreds of police officials. On this occasion, SP (D) Manjit Singh, and other senior officials were present.
