FOR A BRIGHT FUTURE, STUDENTS MUST READ BOOKS: SDM ARORA

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

With the joint efforts of the Management of the RSD Girls Middle School and All India Arora Khatri Punjabi Community, books were distributed to 446 students of local schools and colleges in a grand function organized at Arorvansh Bhawan today.

Chief guest, Sub-Divisional Officer Ravinder Singh Arora inspired students to make reading books a habit for a bright future. The success that can be achieved through book knowledge cannot be achieved through the internet alone. He appreciated social activists for distributing books for the last 11 years. There will be many children whose families are feeling inconvenience in buying expensive books. Providing them free study material truly makes the “Shiksha Kranti” worthwhile, he added.

D.A.V. College principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Mahajan assured that all possible assistance will be provided to the needy and meritorious students in higher education. Students preparing for professional courses while studying will not lag behind in becoming self-reliant.

Former Mayor Vimal Thatai said that the book distribution is a historic step in providing relief to the students from poverty in the education sector. Chief organiser Naresh Khurana, said that the tears falling from the eyes of a girl student who was feeling unable to manage the books inspired him to start this project. Colonel SPR Gaba (Retd) thanked everyone. Praveen Chawla and Kamal Khurana conducted the stage. Bhagwant Bhateja spoke about the project.
