MLA SANDEEP JAKHAR JOINS SAFAI SEWAKS AT DHARNA, SPEAKS TO MINISTER BAINS ON PHONE

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

As a strike by Safai Sewaks for their demands entered the second week, MLA Sandeep Jakhar today reached the protest site, sat with them and listened to their problems in detail.

He assured the Safai Sewaks that he stands shoulder to shoulder with them in every situation. Taking on the Punjab Government and the local leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party, he said that it is very sad that the Safai Sewaks have been on the streets for the last 8 days, but the state govt. has not bothered. The local AAP leadership and no administrative official have yet talked to them.

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the MLA contacted Local Bodies Department Minister Harjot Singh Bains over phone from the protest site itself. He informed the Minister about the legitimate demands of the Safai Sewaks and the situation in the city. Jakhar appealed to the Minister to find a concrete solution to their problems as soon as possible so that they can get relief and the cleanliness system of the city can be restored. The Safai Sewaks expressed their gratitude to MLA Jakhar. They also warned the government that their struggle will continue until their demands are met.
