PILLAR TO POST FIGHT TO GET SUSPECTED DRUG ADDICTS SUCCEEDS AFTER DGP INTERVENES

The Pillar to Post fight by the sister of deceased Lovpreet Singh succeeded after BJP former state president Sunil Jakhar presented her case before the media and DGP Punjab.

City-1 Police have registered a case under Sections 105, 61(2) of the BNS against two individuals in connection with the death of Lovpreet from Nanak Nagri, whose body was discovered about a month and a quarter ago among the bushes at Panjpir Tibba. One of the accused has been apprehended, while a search for the second suspect is on-going.

Baljit Kaur of Nanak Nagri complained that her son, Lovpreet Singh, was addicted to drugs. On September 14, he—along with Ashu and Robin, both residents of Patel Nagar—had pawned an Activa scooter to obtain money for drugs. Her son did not return home that day, and the family began searching for him.

On September 15, the family received a call from an unidentified person informing them that Lovpreet Singh had been found lying at Panjpir Tibba, along with the Activa. Upon viewing a video of the scene, the family realized that Lovpreet had lost his life. Based on the complaint, the police have now registered a case against Ashu and Robin. Ishu alias Ashu has been held, while efforts to locate the second suspect continue.
