A woman is among the drug traffickers who were held by the police in Abohar area.
City-1 Police Station In-charge Maninder Singh said that a team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mohan Lal, in a search of a bike riding woman and her accomplice recovered 15 grams of heroin, 170 narcotic pills, and approximately Rs 18,000 in drug money. The suspects were identified as Lakhwinder Singh Lucky of Jammu Basti, and Paramjit Kaur Pammi of Seed Farm Abohar. Both were arrested under Sections 21, 22, 27B, 29, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act.
City-1 police also apprehended Randeep Singh Vicky of Panjpir Nagar, with 35 grams of heroin. According to police records, four criminal cases previously registered against Vicky include the recovery of 13 grams of heroin and two cases regarding alleged extortion demands. Police stated that the accused had allegedly demanded extortion money from mobile shopkeepers in Abohar and Sriganganagar.
Separately, the CIA staff apprehended a fifth accused, Jaswinder Singh of Alamgarh, based on information provided by four other individuals previously arrested with 40 grams of heroin. While the CIA staff was conducting checks, a Scorpio car was spotted approaching. Upon searching the vehicle on suspicion, about 40 grams of heroin was recovered. The accused have been identified as Sukhjinder Singh of Mohalla Ram Singh, Malout, Jagjit Singh of Chhapianwali, Sukhjinder Singh of Dabwali Malko Lambi), and Gurbhej Singh of Kolianwali, Malout. A case was registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at City-2 Police Station.
