PETROL PUMP EMPLOYEES ROBBED AT PISTOL POINT

A robbery was reportedly committed at a petrol pump last night in village Sayeed Wala near Abohar-Sriganganagar highway. Armed robbers looted cash worth thousands of rupees from the pump employees and fled. The staff informed the pump owners and the police, on which the police team reached the spot, took stock of the incident and started scanning CCTV cameras installed nearby.

Sukhchain resident of Tutwala, an employee of Ashoka Petrol Pump and his colleague were present. According to them, at around 12 o’clock in the night, Sukhchain was giving duty at the pump and the other partner was sleeping. Meanwhile, three youths riding on a bike came, brandished pistols and demanded cash from Sukhchain. When he refused to give it, they had a fight. Hearing their fight, the other partner woke up, who, seeing the robbers, got scared and said that he should give them the cash otherwise they would kill him. They looted around Rs 28,000 cash and fled.

On receiving the information this morning, DSP (Rural) Amandeep Singh and Sadar police station in-charge Kuldeep Kumar Jangu and the police team reached the spot and started scanning the CCTV cameras installed nearby while recording the statements of the employees.
