TWO HELD WITH OPIUM AND POPPY HUSK

The Khuian Sarwar police have arrested two individuals with 1 kilogram of opium and 5 kilograms of poppy husk, respectively. Cases have been registered against both of them under the NDPS Act.

According to the police, Assistant Sub-Inspector Pratap Singh and his team recovered 1 kilogram of opium during a search of a paddler. The accused was identified as Ganga Ram, resident of Dariyapur, district Jhalawar. The police arrested him on the spot and registered a case under Sections 18, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.

In another action, Head Constable Rajpal Kaur and her team stopped a youth on suspicion and searched the plastic sack in his possession. During the search, 5 kilograms of poppy husk was recovered. The accused was identified as Gagandeep Singh, resident of Pakki, Hindumalkot. A case was also registered against him under Sections 15, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.

Police officials said that both accused will be thoroughly interrogated in order to expose the drug trafficking network and reach other people involved in this trade.
