A delegation of 20 students including two teachers and other staff members from the remote Rajouri Sector of Jammu and Kashmir today called on Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator, Mr. V.P. Singh Badnore as part of 'Operation Sadbhavana', an educational-cum-motivational tour conducted by the army.

Interacting with them, Mr. Badnore appreciated the role of the army in conducting such tours which would not only provide them an opportunity to visit various places of the country but will also inculcate a sense of national pride by witnessing vast cultural and religious diversity of the country.

He also said such tours would go a long way in giving more exposure to the members of 'Sadbhavana' team regarding the rich, vivid and vibrant heritage of the country. He said that this initiative would also provide an opportunity to the members to broaden their horizons.

Earlier giving brief description regarding the visit, team leader Major Nikhil Dhawan, officer inchrage of the tour said that the tour aimed at generating better trust and goodwill amongst the local populace besides winning their hearts and minds. It will also induce a sense of belongingness in the youth towards the nation, enhance pride and respect for the country. During the tour, students would be visiting important historical places also Ludhiana to study the industrial set up there and also culturally rich cities like Chandigarh besides interacting with prominent dignitaries of the state, he added.
