HARYANA TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT TO TWO LACS YOUTH IN STATE UNDER SAKSHAM YOJANA

The Haryana Government has set for itself a target to provide employment to two lakh youths in the state under the Saksham Yojana. Efforts would be made to ensure that no educated youth remains unemployed.

Disclosing this while presiding over a review meeting of the development works with officers in Karnal District today, the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, said officers had been directed to appoint youth under the Saksham Yojana in various departments where there is shortage of employees. Apart from government offices, the youth would also get job opportunities in industrial units.

Plans have been drawn to set up a trauma centre every 60 kilometres to provide instant medical facility to those sustaining injuries in road accidents on national highways, and work in this direction had already started.

Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various development projects costing Rs 115 crore in different parts of the district.

He said that a sum of Rs 325.16 crore would be spent in Karnal under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). This amount would be spent on sewerage and drainage, urban transport and development of green spaces and parks. About Rs 84.50 crore would be spent on the drainage of rain water whereas Rs 160 crore would be spent on laying sewerage lines.

The Chief Minister said that out of the 3,500 announcements made by him in the entire state, 2,100 had either been executed or were nearing completion. Work on the remaining would be completed by the end of this year.

He inaugurated 33KV sub-station in village Bhoji Khalsa in Indri Sub Division set up at the cost of about Rs 4 crore. He also laid foundation stone of 33KV sub-station in Gharaunda which would be set up at a cost of about Rs 5 crore. It would come in about six months.

Mr Manohar Lal also inaugurated newly constructed V.R. single span steel bridges on the Karnal-Munak road-Ghoghripur-Naru Kheri-Pingli and on Budhanpur-Jani-Jundla-Assandh-Gharaunda road. A sum of Rs 508.69 crore and Rs 531.70 crore has been spent on these bridges, respectively.

KHATTAR DIRECTS TO START OPD IN OLD BUILDING 

At the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed the Director, Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Dr. Surender Kashyap, and the Civil Surgeon, Dr. Yogesh Sharma, to start OPD in old building of the general hospital until the new building is constructed, so that patients did not face any inconvenience. Dr. Kashyap said land had been identified in Sector 32 for construction of the new general hospital.

HARYANA VISION TO CHECK ON ROAD ACCIDENTS

The Chief Minister was told at the meeting that rural areas had been made 100 per cent ODF under the Swachh Bharat Mission and urban areas would soon be made ODF. The district administration is working dedicatedly on the Haryana Vision Zero to put a check on road accidents. The Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr. Karan Dev Kamboj, was also present on this occasion.
