Natural Biodiversity Society from Panjab University collaborated with the Department of Botany and Campus Beautification Committee of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sec-26, Chandigarh to organise a Nature Walk and Talk/Photography workshop and Exhibition on Saturday to acclimatize students about Flora and Fauna on College campus.

An exhibition consisting about 150 photographs from eminent naturalists was organised and inaugurated by Principal, Dr Jyoti Lamba. She also inaugurated a digital exhibition of the pictures clicked by students on the same day. About 100 students participated with about 150 photographs.

On this occasion about 100 students with about 25 teachers strolled in campus with their magnification lenses in the form of digital camera and mobile phones. About 70 species of flora and 30 species of fauna were observed. College is intending to make a list of all such species season wise.

Dr. Arun Bansal, Administrator, NB apprised that it is their forty eight event and their target is to conduct biodiversity census of the whole city and they are moving forward in this direction college by college, school by school.

Team Natural Biodiversity included Dr Arun Bansal, Er Anil Thakur, Dr Ankur Dewan, Mr Navtej Singh and Mr Gurdev Singh. Dr. Jasveer Kaur & Dr. Kawalpreet Kaur coordinated the event from SGGS.
