SEVEN DAYS NSS SEPICAL CAMP AT PU: DR. JULIE INTERACTED VOLUNTEERS SHARES SIGNS AND SYMPTOMES OF BRAIN STROKE

The third day of NSS camp at Panjab University started with the routine  physical exercise in the University playgrounds and the first session was delivered by  Dr Julie from Department of Neurology, PGIMER, Chandigarh on Brain Stroke. She interacted with the NSS volunteers and shared the signs and symptoms regarding Stroke.

She said that in case of Stroke, we should be very fast to take the patient to the hospital, where there is a CT Scan available, so that the kind of Stroke can be identified and immediately the treatment can be initiated. She also warned the NSS volunteers about the local quacks who are befooling the local community members about the superstitious ways of treating a stroke. She also appealed the volunteers to spread a word of awareness in their communities about Stroke.  A small video about Stroke was also screened.

In an another session Dr Rakesh Khullar from BGT Health Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh interacted with the NSS volunteers  about the First Aid. He shared what to do when there is an accident, a burn, an ankle sprain, nose bleeding, seizures and animal bites etc. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session and asked  various queries about the related issues. Today the NSS volunteers also put-up an  exhibition of the posters made by them yesterday regarding the cruelty towards animals. 

Dr Navdeep Sharma, NSS Programme Co-ordinator also motivated the students about the maximum participation of the different activities conducted in this seven days camp.  During this seven days camp, a SWACHHTA APP would be launched by Sh Jatinder  Yadav  in the  presence of Professor Arun K Grover, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh on 27th December,2017 at 12noon.
