FIFTH DAY OF NSS CAMP AT PU: PROF. RONKI RAM ADVISES TO VOLUNTEER FOR BEST USE OF PLACE TO CREATE ENVIRONMENT TO LEARN

Prof. Ronki Ram from Department of Political Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh addressed the NSS volunteers, regarding the "Importance of Learning in Life". He opined learning is a unique process which is neither a process nor an art but a feeling of being at ease and living with purpose consciously. He urged the students to make the best use of the place wherever they are and create an environment to learn filled with hope and interest. He emphasised to make learning synchronised moment of life where everyone has capacity to focus. 

Later in the day students were addressed by an experts on insurance and cosmetology. The career opportunities in the insurance sector and awareness about importance of insurance and savings in life were given by Mr.Ravinder K. Jain (Retd) Regional Manager from New India Insurance.  

With the aim of promoting skill development to start entrepreneurial ventures in field of cosmetology, Ms.Sheeta lKapoor, Director FAMFORD Institute of Cosmetology, Chandigarh informed the students of the Beauty and Wellness course started by her institute under the KaushalVikasYojana, a skill development scheme of Government of India. She highlighted the course is offered free of cost to both boys and girls with a guaranteed 100 percent job placement after successful completion of the course. She also shared the minimum requirement to join course was upto 8th Class pass. The basic motive was to share how NSS volunteers could spread the message among needy during their outreach activities in slums, and villages among needy and those looking for lucrative career opportunities with minimum investment.
