In a statement released here today, LoP Khaira severely castigated Capt. Amarinder Singh for defending a habitual offender and tainted Minister Rana Gurjeet, who is once again under fire for violating FEMA, and indulging in money laundering, for which a notice has been sent to his son by the ED.  Khaira said although Capt. Amarinder Singh should have dismissed him from his cabinet long back when the infamous mining scandal rocked the state, but unfortunately the Chief Minister turned a complete blind eye to sensational corruption charges against his Minister.

This is not the first time that the tainted Minister Rana Gurjeet is involved in serious allegations of international money laundering said LoP Khaira, apart from the mining scandal Rana Gurjeet was involved in forcible illegal occupation of a house in Jalandhar owned by an ex-serviceman.

He sasid, Rana Gurjeet has also been accused of cheating the sugarcane farmers to the tune of rupees 11,000-12,000 per trolley by wrongly weighing their product in his sugar mill at V. Buttar district Amritsar, a video to this effect has gone viral on the social media, he said. Similarly a stolen truck load of basmati rice was surprisingly found in his distillery at V. Louke district Tarntaran recently, said LoP Khaira. The Rs. 1,000 crore irrigation scamster contractor Gurinder Singh is also a partner of the tainted Minister Rana Gurjeet in his mining operations, as he has contributed Rs. 5 crore to the mining auction.

All these illegal and nefarious activities of Rana Gurjeet and his family show that he is misusing his official position to wrongly expand his business empire in Punjab and other parts of the world, said Khaira. Therefore, AAP demands his immediate dismissal from the cabinet, a fresh CBI probe that should look into the multifarious illegal and illegitimate operations of the tainted Minister, demanded Khaira.
