Chandigarh (Face2News)

A new web portal has been launched in order to facilitate Punjabi students seeking to pursue higher studies abroad and save them from  exploitation at the hands of fraudulent agents/consultants.

The web portal - Punjabvisahub.com - will guide the students with requisite information.

Disclosing this here, a spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that Brig. (Retd.) CS Harika called on the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and apprised him about the new website, which would prove to be a boon for Punjabi students. He said that this web portal would enable the students keen to go abroad for higher studies about all the aspects of immigration, including the rating and fee structure of colleges/universities across the globe.

The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of Brig. Harika and hoped that the website would guide the youth who were aspiring to pursue higher education in different disciplines and job profiles in foreign shores.

Brig. Harika revealed that the state had nearly 25000 travel agents/ agencies involved in Counselling and sending the youth abroad but of these only 5000 had so far registered themselves with the State Government. The aspiring students can post their queries on the website which would be answered instantly by a team of experts and career professionals.  Further, it would have a list of Government approved agents/agencies and the students can also share their problems on this platform which would be forwarded to Punjab Government for investigation and necessary action, he said. The said portal would guide the people of Punjab and prevent them from being duped by unauthorised agents and false advertisements in this regard.

He further stated that PunjabVisaHub was in no way a placement agency but an exhaustive information platform giving finer details of colleges/universities abroad,  such curriculum, facilities available etc. In case of any grievance or doubt prospective students can raise the same with PunjabVisaHub, which would be addressed promptly to their satisfaction.  This portal would also seek suggestions from the students already studying in the colleges/universities abroad and post these on the website for information of all.
