VALUERS ASSOCIATION TO PROTEST BEFORE INCOME TAX CHIEF COMMISSIONER FROM APRIL 9

Valuers Association Chandigarh Chapter Office, Er. Kulwant Singh Rai, President, Valuers Association informed that Valuers Association is registered Society under Societies Registration Act, 1860 and all members are technical degree holders.

The approval of Govt. Registered Valuers is given by The Chief Commissioner of Income Tax of Concerned zone. All such Valuers after registration u/s 34 AB of WT Act can get empanelment in banks and other financial institutions. However, some of our members are facing problem of getting registration as Govt. Approved Valuer due to unnecessarily delay for long time by the Office of the Chief Commissioner Income Tax, Chandigarh.

Er. Rai further informed that Valuers Association had requested the CCIT, Chandigarh on 8th March via email to clear all files of Applicants as such files are pending since long with the office and banks are asking to get empanelment with Office of CCIT to become approved valuer of the bank. Many files of existing Govt. Registered Valuers are pending for Review by the department due to which the Empanelment by some banks is put on hold with condition to get review from CCIT office to continue to remain on panel of bank.

Er. Kapil Arora, General Secretary further added that One Reminder was sent to the department by mentioning that in case the issue is not resolved, Valuers Association will hold peaceful protest (as per constitutional right) in front of the Office of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax at Aayakar Bhawan, Sector 17-E, Chandigarh from 9th April 2018.

It was decided in the meeting that 3 to 4 Valuers will sit on peaceful Protest outside CCIT Office at Aayakar Bhawan, Sector 17-E, Chandigarh without interrupting or creating any nuisance or inconvenience to Public. The Concerned Police Station has also been informed regarding Peaceful Protest via email on 28-03-2018.
