CBI ARRESTS A JOINT CHIEF CONTROLLER (GOI) AND A PRIVATE PERSON IN AN ALLEGED BRIBERY CASE

Searches were conducted today in 11 places including at Chennai, Jaipur & Chandigarh.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Joint Chief Controller of Explosive, Petroleum & Explosive Safety Organization, Shastri Bhawan, Chennai and a private person in an alleged bribery case.

The accused identified as A.K. Yadav, Joint Chief Controller of Explosive, Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization, ShastriBhawan, Chennai,  Sakthivel(Private person) of M/s AR & Co. Perambalur,  Kumaresan (Middleman) of M/s Centaur Consultant, Chennai.

A case was registered against a Joint Chief Controller of Explosive, Petroleum & Explosive Safety Organization, Shastri Bhawan, Chennai; a private person of Perambalur based private company and a middleman of Chennai based private firm under the relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act. It was alleged that the public servant had demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the private person for issuance of license under the Explosives Act.

Both the public servant and private person were intercepted by the CBI and were arrested.
