HARYANA DIRECTS DEPARTMENTS ON COURT CASES IN PUNJAB AND HARYANA HIGH COURT

Giving instructions on Court matters, Haryana Government has directed all the departments, boards and corporations to depute responsible officers for attending the court cases in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. 

While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that in proceedings relating to any contempt petition, an officer of Prosecution Department not below the rank of Assistant District Attorney should be deputed to attend the court. Similarly, departmental officer not below the rank of Deputy Director would also be present in the High Court. He said that Head of Department would ensure that State Counsels are properly briefed a day before the date of hearing. 

He said that the orders passed by the Court especially in contempt petitions should be complied with in time bound manner without any delay. The Nodal Officer of the department concerned deputed for court cases would ensure that each notice, summon, time bound direction or Court’s order should be brought to the notice of Head of Department immediately. On account of non-compliance, the cost if any, imposed by the Court, would be recovered from the erring or delinquent official. 

All the Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Managing Directors and Chief Administrators of Board and Corporations and Registrars of all Universities in the state have been directed for strict compliance of the same.
