SIDHU SHOULD RESIGN ON MORAL GROUNDS: PUNJAB BJP QUESTIONS SILENCE OF CAPTAIN AND JAKHAR,

PUNJAB MINISTERES BRAHM MOHINDERA AND RANA GURMEET SINGH8 SODHI CONGRATULATES SIDHU ON ACQUITTAL

Bharatiya Janata Party today asked Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu to resign on moral grounds after he was held guilty by the Supreme Court under Section 323 of the IPC in a 1988 road rage case. While convicting Sidhu, the apex court also slapped a fine of f Rs. 1000 on the former cricketer. Meanwhile two punjab minister Mr. Brahm Mohindera and Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi congratulates Mr. Sidhu on acquittal.

In a press note released here today, Union Minister Vijay Sampla, party national vice-president Avinash Rai Khanna, former national l secretary Harjit Singh Grewal and former state secretary BJP Punjab Vineet Joshi said that Sidhu should quit the government as he had been convicted by the top court of the country for voluntarily causing hurt.

“Any form of violence is against the tenets of Sikhism. Sidhu represents the holy city of Amritsar which is the land of the great Gurus who always fought against injustice, oppression and violence. Since he has been convicted in a case involving violence, he should resign on moral grounds”, the BJP leaders said.

Questioning CM Punjab Capt Amarinder and PPCC President Sunil Jakhar's silence on Sidhu's CONVICTION, BJP leaders said that conviction is conviction whether its punishment is in the shape of fine or imprisonment it doesn't matter.  The Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, Mr. Brahm Mohindra has congratulated the Local Government, Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu on his acquittal by the hon'ble Supreme Court in a 3 decade old road rage case. 

Congratulating Mr. Sidhu, Mr. Brahm Mohindra said that justice has prevailed in the end. He termed it as victory for the people of Punjab. 

The Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Punjab, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi has congratulated the Local Government, Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu on his acquittal by the hon'ble Supreme Court in a road rage case dating back to 1988. 

Congratulating Mr. Sidhu, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi said that the law has taken its own course and justice has been done. He termed it as victory for the people of Punjab.
