The Anti Human Trafficking Unit of Crime Branch has arrested a man Nigerian originfor peddling drugs in the city. 1.5 kilograms of good quality Heroin has beenrecovered from him. The arrested person is Mr. Obinna Fortune r/oCity Mbano, Imo State, Nigeria Aged 35 years. He has been arrested under the provisions of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and theIndian Passport Act for not being able to furnish his passport.

Mr. Alok Kumar, IPS, JCP, Crime Branch, said, information about Obinna was received by S.I Vipin Kumar of AHTU, Crime Branch. A team ledby Insp. Manoj Kumar consisting of SI Vipin Kumar, ASI Satbir Singh, HCJitender, HC Sitender Pal, Ct Jitender and other staff under close supervisionof Sh. Surender Kumar Gulia, ACP/ Anti Human Trafficking Unit was constitutedto further develop the information.

Atrap was laid near Vikas Puri and Obinna Fortune Aged 35 years wasapprehended at about 05:00 pm on25.6.18. 1.5 kilograms of fine quality heroin was recovered from the black colouredbag in his possession. The recovered heroin is worth more than Rs. 1.5 Crores(approximately) in the International Market. A case, vide FIR No. 174/2018 dt. 26.06.18u/s-21 NDPS Act r/w 14 Foreigner Act PS Crime Branch has been registered.

Obinnarevealed that he and his associate and fellow countryman Charles have beenpeddling drugs in Uttam Nagar and Janakpuri area since the past 4 months. 

Obinna Fortune Aged 35 years (local address - Uttam Nagar Delhi) arrived in Delhi, India on a Tourist Visaa bout 5 months ago. While residing in Uttam Nagar, he came in contact of a fellow country man named Charles who arranged for Heroin to be supplied in the city. Obinna has not been able to furnish his passport as yet. According to himhis passport was kept by Charles. Efforts are being made to trace Charles andlocate the source of the Narcotic substance.
