PUNJAB AND CHANDIGARH POLICE ACHIEVE MAJOR SUCCESS AS NOTARIOUSGANGSTER DILPREET BABA NABBED IN AN ENCOUNTER

Punjab and Chandigarh Police in a joint operation reported to have successfully nabed notarious gangsters wanted in more than two dozen cases after brief encounter with heave police force at least 60 people. He was here living in Sector 38 West. After injuries he was first lifted to Mohali Govt. Hospital, where he was referred to PGI in tight security and operated upon. Police of Punjab and Chandigarh investigating the matter and his harbourers. Police late recovered one KG. contraband heroind from his girl friend weighing one Kg valuing worth five crores in international market. 

  The encountere took place near Sector 43 under jurisdiction of Sector 36 Police Station. where case registered against the gangster Dilpreet Baba, who fired Parmeesh verma singer recently.  

Wanted in 25 criminal cases across Punjab, arms, ammunition and heroine confiscated from his two hideouts 

Punjab Police said in a bid to eradicate crime and nab the gangsters the Punjab Police on the directions of DGP Suresh Arora and DGP Intelligence Dinkar Gupta today arrested gangster Dilpreet Singh alias Baba near sector 43 Chandigarh bus stand who is involved in major criminal activities across the state. Several cases had already been registered against him and also wanted in Chandigarh, Haryana and other neighboring states in as many as 25 heinous crimes including murder. 

Briefing media persons here at Punjab Police headquarters Chandigarh, SSP Jalandhar Rural Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Varinder Pal Singh AIG, SSOC, Punjabsaid the arrest of Dilpreet Singh alias Baba of village Dhahan in Rupnagar district was wanted in FIR no. 121 U/s 307,148,149 IPC dated 6-6-2014 police station Shahkot, District Jalandhar. This operation has put another feather in the cap of the Punjab Police which had won accolades recently for cracking high-profile targeting killing cases including arrests of notorious gangsters in the state. 

He informed that on a specific tip off, a joint team of crime wing and intelligence wing of Punjab police comprising DSP Nakodar Mukesh Kumar and Inspector Incharge CIA Jalandhar Shiv Kumar including team of SSOC Mohali was constituted to arrest the criminals. Under the supervision of DSP SSOC Tejinder Singh, DSP Intelligence Rakesh Yadav, Inspector Gurcharan Singh and Inspector Bhupinder Singh criminal Dilpreet Baba was apprehended on the backside of Sector-43 bus stand, Chandigarh who was coming on Maruti Swift Dzire in a car bearing number HR04G 0834. He tried to escape when his car was hit by the vehicle of police party. 

Sharing details, SSP Bhullar informed that Dilpreet Singh tried to ran away from the spot while firing on the police party and was injured during the cross fire who was thereafter admitted to the PGI, Chandigarh. He said the Punjab Police has recovered one pistol loaded .30 bore along with cartridges, one .30 bore rifle along with 28 cartridges, 59 cartridges of .12 bore, one belt of cartridges, one fake beard and moustaches, two fake number plates, three hockey sticks and one iron rod from his car. 

Declaring zero tolerance towards gangsters, SSP Bhullar further revealed that Dilpreet was active in Punjab and other states and supplying narcotics and arms/ammunition to the gangsters. He has made his hideouts in other states and his accomplice Rupinder Kaur D/o Charan Das R/o 2567, Sector 38, Chandigarh and her sister Harpreet Kaur D/o Charan Das R/o Waheguru Nagar, Nawanshehar were also interrogated. He was running his network from these residences and hiding arms and ammunition and heroine etc. with these ladies. 

He informed that during a raid at Nawanshehar, one pump action rifle, one pistol along with 40 cartridges, one kg heroine, one electronic weight machine and one mobile phone have also been recovered. On the basis of above recoveries and arrests a FIR has been registered U/s 22 of NDPS Act, 25, 54, 59 of Arms Act, and 212, 216 of IPC on dated 9-7-18 at police station SSOC, Mohali. Dilpreet Singh @ Baba and Ranjeet Singh were also wanted in FIR no. 121 U/s 307, 148, 149 of IPC dated 6-6-2014 at police station Shahkot, Jalandhar District.
