HARYANA DECLARES DECEMBER 16 AS PUBLIC HOLIDAY

Haryana Government has notified that December 16, 2018 (Sunday) would be observed as Public holiday in the offices of Government departments, Boards, Corporations and educational institutions under the State Government and in the various factories, commercial establishments, shops etc. located in the respective areas of poll in view of the general elections of 5 Municipal corporations of Hisar, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar, Panipat and Karnal and of 2 Municipal committees including Jakhal Mandi (Fatehabad) and Pundri (Kaithal) so as to enable employees and officers of these institutions to cast their vote.

While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that it has also been notified that December 16, 2018 would be observed as public holiday under Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 in the areas where the elections are going to be held.
