INDIA WILLING CORDIAL AND PEACEFUL RELATIONS WITH PAKISTAN, BUT EXPECT RECIPROCATION FROM OTHER SIDE : RAJNATH SINGH

RAJ NATH SINGH INAUGURATES 'NEW VIEWERS GALLERY' AT ATTARI IN AMRITSAR 

Since tourists from all over the world visit this place for witnessing this prestigious, highly stylized, patriotic and energetic Beating the Retreat Ceremony Parade, hence, in  order to accommodate more spectators and considering their comfort a “New Viewers’ Gallery” has been constructed at JCP, Attari which involves many public amenities likeexpansion of sitting capacity from 3000 to 15000 spectators

Shri Rajnath Singh,  Union Home Minister of India inaugurates New Viewers Gallery at Vagha Border on Indo Pak Border on Monday. He was accompanied by Shri Rajni Kant Mishra, IPS, Director General, Border Security Force (BSF) who briefed him about various Operational and Administrative activities being undertaken by BSF in Punjab.

Referring to India’s relations with Pakistan, the Home Minister repeatedly emphasized that India wanted cordial and peaceful relations with its neighbor. India has taken many initiatives to ensure that both the neighboring co-exist in an atmosphere of  peace and mutual trust. Even the beating the Retreat Ceremony at JCP Attari was started  on India’s initiatives so that citizens of both countries could see the ceremony conducted by  BSF and Pak Rangers together. The Hon’ble Home Minister expected reciprocity to our  repeated overtures of friendship & goodwill from Pakistan too.

They were later briefed about the functioning of ICP and JCP Attari. Later, Shri Rajnath Singh Unveiled the foundation stone for Border Security Force Residential Complex and inaugurated the Newly  Constructed Viewers’ Gallery to facilitate the thousands of spectators who come to  witness the prestigious Retreat Ceremony Parade on daily basis at JCP Attari,  Amritsar in presence of BSF personnel and 10000 visitors. Sh. Kamal Nayan Choubey,

IPS, Addl DG BSF, Sh. Surendra Panwar, IPS, Addl DG BSF Western Command,  Chandigarh, and Sh. Mahipal Yadav, IPS IG BSF Punjab were also present during the  occasion.

 
 
 
 Since tourists from all over the world visit this place for witnessing this prestigious, highly stylized, patriotic and energetic Beating the Retreat Ceremony Parade, hence, in  order to accommodate more spectators and considering their comfort a “New Viewers’ Gallery” has been constructed at JCP, Attari which involves many public amenities like expansion of sitting capacity from 3000 to 15000 spectators, installation of 03 Ultra-Modern LED screens with state of art acoustics, carpeting of approach road, underground cable  work and acceleration of central and side-walks have also been incorporated for  convenience of the visitors. Foundation stone for construction of this New Viewers’ Gallery  was laid by the Hon’ble Home Minister Sh Rajnath Singh on March 22, 2015.

Thereafter,construction was started in Oct 2015 and completed in Dec 2018.3. Hon’ble Home Minister also addressed gathering of BSF Jawans and thousands of spectators on the occasion.

He emphasized that BSF had the honour of being the largest Border Guarding Force in the world and is doing an exemplary work in protecting the IndoPak and Indo-Bangladesh Borders. He referred to the Force as India’s formidable First wall  of Defence.

Further Union Home Minister said that for the overall development of a Country, it is necessary that its borders remain secure from all types of external threats and for the last 54 years, Border Security Force (BSF), has been safeguarding the Indian  borders with great determination and professional expertise.

He further added that Border Security Force has always shown its indomitable courage and spirit to overcome the
problems & challenges posed before it and has retaliated to any challenge/aggression  forcefully including the recent retaliation of cross border firing from Pakistan by BSF in most  effective manner. He applauded the efforts of BSF personnel under the dynamic leadership  of Shri Rajni Kant Mishra, IPS, Director General, Border Security Force for playing an  incredible role in the journey of our Country towards success. The Home Minister stated  that the people living in the border area are strategic assets of the Nation. He appealed to  the BSF personnel to take care of them while doing their duties.

Earlier, during welcome address Shri Rajni Kant Mishra, IPS, Director General Border Security Force thanked Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India for sparing their  valuable time and gracing the occasion. He also expressed hisgratitude to the dignitaries,  civil population and guests who were present there from various parts of the country to motivate BSF personnel.
