DELHI POLICE BUSTED ILLEGAL CASINO AT LE CASTLE MICASA RESORT, 51 PERSONS INCLUDING 5 GIRLS ARRESTED

Police reported to have arrested 51 persons including five girls on Thursday late night on large scale gambling.

 Mr. Rajiv Ranjan, IPS, ACP, told media that  Police on basis of a secret information, a joint team of SOS-I and SOS-II of Crime Branch,Rohini raided the premises of Le Castle Micasa Resort and Motels at Palla Bakhtawar Pur Road, GT Karnal Road near Shani Mandir, Delhi. Large scale of gambling was found at the place. Liquor was also being served illegally. Theorganizers had hired a trained person namely Love Vashist R/o Sanjay NagarSec-2,Rohini, Delhi to run the gambling den. He had earlier worked with afamous Casino in Goa and also used to arrange Casino tours for Sri lanka andCiprus in India.

 Police said, on secret information was received that large-scale gambling was being organized at Le Castle MicasaResort and Motels at Palla Bakhtawar Pur Road, GT Karnal Road near ShaniMandir, Delhi. DCP Crime Dr. Joy Tirkey constituted a joint team led by ACP Sh.Anil Dureja and ACP Sh. Arvind Yadav and consisting of Inspr. Abhinendra Jain,Inspr. Joginder, Inspr. Mukesh Antil, SI Sushil, SI Praveen Atri, ASIShailender, ASI Lakhvinder, ASI Harvinder, ASI Yashpal, ASI Ram Niwas andothers including two female staff namely W/HC Kamla and W/Ct. Mamta, raided thepremises around midnight on 24th and 25th January, 2019.

It was found that illegal gambling was being run in a big hall situated at thetop floor of the hotel. Women were serving token/chips at the speciallydesigned casino tables to play cards. Token/chips were being given against cashas well as on credit and a register was being maintained for the same. Liquorwas also being served illegally by the staff/manager/lessee of the hotel.

A total of 51 persons were arrested including5 women involved in illegal gambling and violation of the Excise Act. Totalstake money seized is Rs. 5.42 lakhs. 13 persons, including 5 women were the organizers. The rest of the arrested accused i.e. 38 persons were arrested for gambling. The place also has hired dancers and DJ for entertainment of thegambler.

Two cases vide FIR No.17/19 dated25.01.2019 u/s 3/4/5/9/55 PS Crime Branch, Delhi Gambling Act and case FIRNo.18/19 dated 25.01.2019 u/s 33/46/51/58 Delhi Excise Act PS Crime Branch havebeen registered in this regard.

During investigation it has been found that the Gambling Racket was being run since the last several months. However, the premises were being changed regularly.The venue at Le Castle Micasa Resort had been chosen for this particular day only. The last time suchgambling was organized by the accused persons was on the occasion of New Yearat a farm house in Gannaur, Sonepat, Haryana.

The main organizers have been identified as Mukesh Kumar, Sanjay Aggarwal, Devraj ,Ajay and Love Vasistha. These are the people who pick up venues and call their group of gamblers to come and play cards. Liquor is served illegally and women are used to serve liquor and help  guests to play cards. The party usually continues all night. Specially designed casino tables are used for players to sit around and play. Often, live music and dance shows are also arranged. 

It was found that the owner of the Hotel is  Ashok Gupta. He had given the Hotel on lease to Ajay Jain and his partners for Rs. 15.75 lakhs per month. Ajay Jain has been arrested along with Surender Banger, the General Manager of the Hotel,in this case.Further investigation in the case is on.
