DELHI POLICE ARRESTED INTERSTATE NARCOTIC DRUG CARTEL CARRYING REWARD OF ON LAC ON HIS HEAD

TWO KEY PLAYERS OF THIS CARTE HAVE ALREADY BEEN ARRESTSED WITH 32 KG. HEROIN WORTH MILLION OF RUPEES ON MARCH 8

A team of Special Cell/Northern Range,led by Inspr. Puran Pantunder the supervision of Shri Manoj Dixit, ACP hasbusted an Interstate drug cartel by arresting its two dependable keymembers/carriers namely (1) Mohd. Sikandar, aged 30 years, and (2) Mohd. Umar,aged 26years both r/oSora Mayal Leikai, Hayal Labuk, Thoubal, Manipur.32 kg.of high grade heroin and anSUV Duster car No- DL-8CZ-8112used for transporting the illegal consignments was recovered from the duo. Accordingly, a case videFIR No- 38/19 u/s 21/29/61/85 NDPS Act, P.S.- Special Cell, Delhi was registered and investigation was takenup.

The interrogation of Mohd. Umar & Mohd. Sikander confirmed that the recovered heroin wasdelivered to them by a supplier at Guwahati (Assam) at the behest of one Mamuof Bareily (U.P) and the same was to be delivered to some clients of Mamu inDelhi. For identification and apprehension of Kingpin Mamu & his contact inDelhi, 7 days’ P/C remand of both the arrested accused persons was obtained.During P/C remand, a dedicated team was camped near Bareilly, U.P for makingall possible efforts to apprehend the kingpin Mamu and to further establish theidentity of his source of supply atManipur, but he could not be apprehended. After strenuous efforts his identitywas established as Tasleem Qureshi @ Mamu s/o Niyamatullah r/o Vill- Bhindaulia, Padarthpur, Bareilly, U.P. Non-Bailable warrants against him was also issued by the Hon’ble Court since he wasuntraceable despite all possible efforts.

In view of gravity, a reward of Rs.One lakh was also declared for the arrest of Tasleem Qureshi @ Mamu by Delhi Police. 

Since registration ofthe case, a dedicated team was making all possible continuous efforts throughmanual sources as well as technical surveillance.

A team headed by SI BijenderSingh was again camped near Bareilly, U.P since 16.04.2019 for making freshefforts to apprehend Tasleem Qureshi @ Mamu. A numbers of suspected hideouts ofTasleem Qureshi @ Mamu at Bareilly, Pilibhit, Lucknow, Rampur and Muradabad, U.Pwere raided. Accused Tasleem Qureshi @ Mamu luckily managed to escaped onseveral times. Finally, on receipt of source information in the interveningnight of 21/22.04.2019 at about 08.30 pm, Tasleem Qureshi @ Mamu was apprehendedfrom the highway near Muradabad, U.P as he was waiting for his contact toproceed further at a safe hideout.

Tasleem Qureshi @ Mamu has been broughtto Delhi for producing before the court for obtaining his P/C remand forsustained interrogation and to make all possible efforts for identification andapprehension of his sources in Delhi and Manipur. 

Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Dy. Commissioner ofPolice, ]Special Cell; Delhi, accused Tasleem Qureshi @ Mamu r/o Bareilly, U.P.is 33 years old and an illiterate person. Their family business is to sell meat.Hisfamily is running two meat shops at his village. On interrogation, Tasleem Qureshi@ Mamu disclosed that previously he has been associated with his brothers intheir meat trading business. Since a year back, he was introduced to a supplierof Manipur by, a distant relative of him. It was told to him that he suppliesHeroin from North-East States and that he can sell the same in U.P and Delhi/NCRareas.

He was also introduced to Mohd. Umar & Mohd. Sikander of Manipur andit was told by the supplier that they are engaged for supplying Heroin andtheir services can be availed by him. He asked both Mohd. Umar & Mohd.Sikander to join him against hefty payment amount for delivery of eachconsignment. Both of them agreed to his offer and he started this illicittrade. He further told that the supplier used to change his mobile numbersfrequently and keep on meeting him at West Bengal or Assam for finalizing thedeals and payments thereof.
