DELHI POLICE BUSTED INTER-STATE DRUG RACKET INVOLVED IN SUPPLYING OF MALANA CREAM,TWO KULLU RESIDENTS ARRESTED

The team of STARS -II Crime Branch,ShakarPur, Delhi has arrested two members of drug cartel including the kingpin namely Moti Lal @ Sonu Pandit and Kuldeep Sharma, both R/o –villChhijara, Distt – Kulu, H.P, who are indulged in the supply of Charas in Delhi and NCR. A Case vide FIR No-104/19, dated 23.04.2019, u/s 20, 29 NDPS ACT, PS Crime Branch, has been registered inthis regard.

Dr. G.Ram Gopal Naik, DeputyCommissioner of Police, STARS& STF, Crime Branch, Delhi. Said, team of STARS II Crime Branchin it’s endeavour to cut the supply chain of malana cream, charas have deployed manual andtechnical surveillance.

During search, 1200 grams of charas was recovered from a carry bag. The recovered charas is worth Rs 1.2 Crore ininternational market.They have transported the recovered charas by concealingit in a Maruti Gypsy. The Gypsy is registered in the name of accused Moti Lal @Sonu Pandit who has purchased the said Gypsy for the sole purpose of supplyingcharas. The Gypsy is having logo of “RAID DE HIMALAYA OFICIAL VEHICLE”, and “HIMALAYAN MOTORSPORT RALLYVEHICLE” to hoodwink the law enforcing agencies. 

On 22/04/19, a credible information was received that two drug suppliers namely Sonu Panditand Kuldeep Sharma, both r/o –vill Chhijara, Distt – Kulu H.P, who are indulgedin supplying of Charas in Delhi, would come to supply Charas inhuge quantity at opposite water works colony, near Majnu Ka Tilla Gurudawara,outer ring road, New Delhi at about 7/7.30 pm

On this information, a team lead by Insp. Shiv darshan, consisting of, S.I Vikrant, SIArvind Kumar, S.I Ram Kishan, ASI Murli dhar, HC Sanjeev, HC Narender, HC LalBhadur, Ct Kapil, Ct Rakesh, Ct Devender, Nitesh and Nitin was constitutedunder the supervision of Sh. Arvind Kumar, ACP/STARS-II Crime. The team laid atrap opposite water works colony, near Majnu Ka TillaGurudwara, outer ring road, New Delhi and apprehended two persons namely MotiLal @ Sonu Pandit aged 31, and Kuldeep Sharma aged 32, both r/o –vill Chhijara, Post Bradha, P.S& Distt – Kulu, Himachal Pradesh.

INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI:

During sustained interrogation, bothMoti Lal @ Sonu Pandit and KuldeepSharma disclosed that they are residentsof village Chhijara, Distt – Kulu,Himachal Pradesh.Villagers are extracting charas from cannabis plants asit used to grow there naturally. They also have the knowledge to extract charasfrom cannabis plants and sell it to tourists who visit there. The recoveredcharas was procured from one person DR (name changed), r/o village Pini DisttKullu Himachal Pardesh who is the bulk supplier of charas. They transport thecharas in the newly purchased Gypsy which has above mentioned Logo.

The Charas is supplied to Delhi NCR, asper demand through carriers. They have come to supply charas to their contactbut, were apprehended.

DCP further said, Moti Lal @ Sonu Pandit aged 31 r/o –vill Chhijara, Post Bradha, P.S & Distt – Kullu Himachal Pradesh. He was born and brought up in his native village. His father is working in his agriculture fields. He studied till class 10 and started working as security guard at Manali and then he started plying taxi in Manali. He fell in bad company and started consuming charas andliquor. He met one DC(name changed) who luredhim in supplying of charas. He purchased the recovered Gypsy in Dec-2018 andstarted supplying of charas in it after procuring it from DR and BC (nameschanged). He also put the logo of “RAID DE HIMALAYA OFICIAL VEHICLE”, and“HIMALAYANMOTORSPORT RALLY VEHICLE” on theGypsy to dodge the law enforcing agencies.

The second accused Kuldeep Sharma aged 32, r/o –vill Chhijara, PostBradha, P.S & Distt – Kulu, Himachal Pradesh. He studied till class XII.Local villagers of his village are extracting charas from cannabis plant and healso learnt this skill. He worked as store keeper in a hotel in Manali. For the last six months, he is working with Moti Lal and both of them are supplyingcharas in Delhi NCR as per the directions of DC. The recovered charas was given by DC and BC.   Furtherinvestigation of the case is in progress.
