DELHI POLICE SOLVED ROHIT SHEKHAR MURDER CASE , WIFE APOORVA SUPREME COURT ADVOCATE ARRESTED

Delhi Police Crime Branch reported to have solved the murder case of Rohit Shekhar son of Late Senior Congress Leader N.D.Diwari on Wedenesday as wife Apoorva Shukla Tiwari  (30)Lawyer of Supreme Court arrested.

Mr. RajivRanjan) IPS, Addl.Commissioner Of Police, Crime, said with  the arrest of Apoorva Shukla Tiwari, age 35 years w/o Sh. Rohit Shekhar Tiwari r/o C-329, DefenceColony, Delhi, the Crime Branch, Delhi, has solved the murder case of Sh. Rohi tShekhar Tiwari.  

ACP, said, on on 16.04.19 at about 18:55 hrs, information was received that Rohit Shekhar s/o Sh. Narayan Datt Tiwari, age 40 years, had been brought dead at Max Hospital, Saket, Delhi. The local police reached the Hospital and shifted the dead body to AIIMS Hospital for post mortem examination.

During enquiry,it was found that Rohit Shekhar Tiwari was the only child of Smt. Ujjawla Tiwari and Late Sh. Narayan Datt Tiwari. On 10.04.2019, Rohit Shekhar Tiwari had left Delhi along with his mother and others to cast his vote at Kathgodam, Uttarakhand. His wife, Apoorva had stayed behind. The group returned from Kathgodam, by late evening on 15.4.19. Rohit had been drinking liquor all the way back and had managed to finish a full bottle along with a lady relative in the car.

During enquiry,it was found that Rohit Shekhar Tiwari was the only child of Smt. Ujjawla Tiwari and Late Sh. Narayan Datt Tiwari. On 10.04.2019, Rohit Shekhar Tiwari had left Delhi along with his mother and others to cast his vote at Kathgodam, Uttarakhand. His wife, Apoorva had stayed behind. The group returned from Kathgodam, by late evening on 15.4.19. Rohit had been drinking liquor all the way back and had managed to finish a full bottle along with a lady relative in the car.

After dinner the family retired to their respective rooms to rest. Apoorva and Rohit slept in separate bedrooms. The next day i.e. on16.4.19, at about 04:00 pm, Rohit was found unresponsive in his bed by aservant. He was taken to the Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

POSTMORTEM 

Postmortem was conducted at AIIMS on 17.4.19. and Cause of death in this case was found to be asphyxia as a result of smothering and strangulation. Some other injuries were also found on the body. Time since death was about 2 hours after the last meal. 

Case registration and Crime Branch Team 

Case FIR No. 76/19 dated 17.4.19u/s 302 IPC PS. Defence Colony was registered in this regard and investigationwas taken up by the Crime Branch. 

A team led by Dr. Joy Tirkey, DCP/Crime alongwith ACP Arvind Kumar and ACP Anil Dureja, InspectorsSatish Kumar, Abhinendra and MukeshAntil was constituted to work on the case.The team also comprised of SI. Sandeep, SI. Praveen Atri, WSI Khushboo, SIYograj, ASI Brahm Dev, ASI Rajender, HC. Rajesh, HC. Ravi Khari, HC. Ravinder,HC. Pradeep, WHC. Seema, WHC. Manju, WCt. Mohini and WCt. Mamta. 

Investigation by Crime Branch 

During investigation it was foundthat Rohit and Apoorva had married on 11.5.18 after having courted each otherfor about a year. Both of them are lawyers. They had met through a marriage portal. Immediately after the marriage the couple seemed to have had a fallout and Apoorva had left for her parental home at Indore on 29.5.18. After this the distance between the two had steadily increased. Apoorva spent more time away from her husband’s house in defence Colony than in it. They had an unhappy marriage. The matter had almost reached to the point of impending divorce. 

The Crime Branch team, narrowed down on Apoorva after a series of interrogation sessions of all the inmates of the house and other persons. Eventually, after sustained interrogation, Apoorva broke downand admitted to having killed her husband. She had smothered and strangulatedhim on his bed on the fateful night. 

On Wednesday morning, Apoorva has been arrested from her house in Defence Colony. She was on Police remaned.Further investigation in the case is in progress.
