TEN PILGRIMS FROM DASUYA DIES IN A FATAL ROAD ACCIDENT, CAPTAIN CONDOLES

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday expressed deep shock and grief over the tragic road accident that took place in Hoshiarpur City this evening, in which 10 pilgrims from Usmaan Shaheed village of Dasuya sub division were killed and 13 injured while returning from Peer Nighaha (Himachal Pradesh) after paying obeisance.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs 1 lakh each to the next of the kin of the deceased and Rs. 25,000 each to the injured as per prevailing state policy. The Chief Minister also asked the District Administration, Hoshiarpur to extend all possible assistance to the victim families besides ensuring best possible free treatment to the injured.

Sharing his heartfelt condolences with the members of the bereaved families, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to bear this huge loss in this hour of grief and grant eternal peace to the departed souls besides wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
