The sleuths of Arms Recovery Team/Operation Cell, Dwarka District led by SI SubhashYadav, comprisingof ASI Kartar and HC Rakesh, under the close supervision of Sh.RajenderSingh, ACP(Ops), Dwarka District arrested one criminal Sumit @ Dilip S/o Sita Ram R/o UttamNagar, Delhi, wanted/declared Proclaimed Offender in a murder case of PS UttamNagar on May 8. One Country Made Pistol and two live cartridges has been recovered fromhim. As he was found carrying an illegal weapon, accordingly, a case has beenregistered in PS Bindapur vide FIR No. 382/19 u/s 25 Arms Act.
Mr. Anto Alphonse, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police:,Dwarka District, said during the intervening night of 07/08.11.2018, a PCR call was received at PS UttamNagar regarding gunshot injury to two men at Hastal Road, Uttam Nagar, Delhi.Local police reached at the spot and it was ascertained that two men havereceived gunshot injuries and have been shifted to DDU hospital. One of theinjured, Javed reported that one of his known Koshar along with Sumit @ Dalipfiredupon himand his friend Azaad(deceased) after an argument.Accordingly, FIR No. 1065/18,dated 08.11.18 u/s 307 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act,PS Uttam Nagar was registered. But laterone of the injured, Azaad, who had received 4 gunshot injuries, succumbed tohis injuries during treatment and section 302 IPC was also invoked accordinglyin the case.

Arms Recovery Team/Operation Cell,Dwarka District has been deputed to nab the wantedcriminals in various heinous cases of Dwarka District. The team is also workinground the clock to curb the crime. Sources are deployed to provide informationabout the movement of criminals in Dwarka District area.

These efforts bore fruits, when on 08.05.2019,Arms Recovery Team/ OperationCell,Dwarka District, led by SI SubhashYadav, comprising of ASI Kartar andHC Rakesh,received a secret information that onecriminalSumit@Dilip wanted in a murder case, who might be carrying illegalweapon would come near Matiala Road Corner, main NajafgarhRoad. The accused isa Proclaimed Offender in a murder case FIR no. 1065/18 of PS Uttam Nagar.

The Arms Recovery team, without wasting any time,laid a trap near Road Corner, mainNajafgarhRoad along with secret informer. At 9:10 PM,one man on Scooty cametoMatiala Road Corner, main NajafgarhRoad and started waiting for arrival ofsomeone. The secret informer immediately recognized him as Sumit @ Dilip, butthe team kept waiting and monitoring his moves. After few minutes, when theaccused was about to leave, the team swiftly acted and nabbed him.

During his cursory search, one Country Made Pistol and two live cartridges wererecovered from the possession of accused. Accordingly, a caseFIR no. 382/19 u/s 25 Arms Act has been registered in PS Bindapur.

INTERROGATION: During interrogation, Sumit@Dilip disclosed that he was born in 1992 in UttamNagar. He studiedtill 8th standard in a local Government School. Initially, the accusedstarted clothing business. The accusedgot his passport issued in 2010 and went to Dubai in the year 2012 to do labuor work andreturned back to India after one year. Again in 2014, he went to Saudi Arab and came back to India in 2016. The accused got involved in badhabits along with his school friend Koshar Khan. The accused started threateninglocal. On 07.11.2018 the accused Sumit@Dilip and his friend Koshar Khan had aquarrel with Azad due to extortion from the local. The situation got tensed andKoshar Khan shot Azad and Javed. Azad got killed and Javed got physicallydisabled.

Koshar Khan was arrested and ispresentlyin jail in the same case but Sumit@Dilip fled from his house alongwith his family and was absconding ever since. Later, he was declared asProclaimed Offender (PO) by the Hon’ble Court in the same case.

The accused was hiding from thepolice and was planning to flee to Kuwait on 11.05.2019, but the relentless efforts of Arms Recovery Teamget him behind the bar.
