Holders Army XI Mumbai and Indian Oil Mumbai entered the semi finals of 36th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar tonight. The match played between these two teams ended 1-1 draw.

In the second match in Pool B Punjab Police Jalandhar beat Air India Mumbai by 4-2 to reserve berth in the semi finals with 5 points in their account. 

In Pool A Indian Oil Mumbai and Army XI displayed controlled hockey. In 17th minute Indian Oil get lead when their Sunil Yadav converted penalty corner (1-0). In the 28th minute equalizer comes from the stick of Sukhdeep Singh of Army XI (1-1). At Half time both teams were at the score of 1-1. With this draw both teams get one point each. With this both teams bagged 5 points from three outings. Army XI in their league matches beat ONGC by 3-0 and Draw with Indian Navy 1-1. Where as Indian Oil bagged five points from three outings. They beat Indian Navy by 3-2 and draw with ONGC by 1-1. Army XI toped the pool with better goal difference and Indian Oil on second place in pool A. 

In Pool B Punjab Police started well against Air India. In the 4th minute of play Police took lead when Pawandeep Singh scored from the top of the striking circle (1-0). In 26th minute Air India equalized. The scorer was Rajat Minj who scored from the left flank (1-1). At half time both teams were at 1-1. In 35th minute and 37th minute Punjab Police struck twice. Karanbir Singh and Olympian Gurbaj Singh scored for Punjab Police (3-1). In 51st minute Pawandeep Singh scored another goal for Punjab Police (4-1). In 56th minute Air India’s Vinaya VS reduced the margin (2-4). 

With this win Punjab Police bagged 5 points from three outings. They draw with Punjab & Sind Bank with 1-1 and also draw with Indian Railways by 1-1.
