Panjab University secured overall first position in the All-India Inter University Boxing (Men) Championship organized by Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut. Boxers of Panjab University won two gold and two silver medals to clinch the trophy. Sawan Gill and Sagar out- punched their respective rivals in the 90 kg and +91 categories to win gold medals for Panjab University.
Mewa Singh (52 kg) and Harpreet Singh (81 kg) earned silver medals in their respective classes for Panjab University.Vishwajeet Singh and Mr. Rajinder Mann accompanied the Panjab University team as coach and manager, respectively.
