FOUR YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN ENGINEER OF DELHI AGRICULTURAL MARKETING BOARD IN A BRIBERY CASE

The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Rouse Avenue Courts, New Delhi has sentenced Ashok Kumar, then Junior Engineer (Civil) of Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board, Government of NCT, Delhi to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 35,000/- in a bribery case.

CBI had registered a case against the accused on a complaint dated 10.08.2015 alleging that Shri Ashok Kumar, JE of Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board had demanded bribe of Rs.30,000/- for preparation of the bills in respect of two works at Slaughter House and Poultry Market, Gazipur, Delhi.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 25,000/-.

After investigation, a charge sheet was filed on 2.1.2016 before the Designated Court, Delhi against the accused.The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
