FAZILKA EX MP GURDAS SINGH BADAL NO MORE, CAPTAIN MOURNS

Ex Member of Parliament Gurdas Singh Badal (90) father of Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal and younger brother of Ex CM Parkash Singh, passed Thursday late night at Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Deceased son Manpreet Singh Badal informed in a tweet said, .

Gurdas Badal had been on life support system for the past few days at Fotis Mohali. He was suffering from age-related ailments, according to family sources. His health had started deteriorating after my mother’s death in March, & he was on life support system for past few days. The younger brother of former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Gurdas alias Daas Ji, was elected to fifth Lok Sabha from the erstwhile Fazilka Lok Sabha seat in 1971 as an Akali Dal Candidate. 

Former parliamentarian Gurdas Singh Badal died at the age of 90 late on Thursday night. Gurdas Badal had been on life support system for the past few days at Fotis Mohali. He was suffering from age-related ailments, according to family sources. His health had started deteriorating after my mother’s death in March, & he was on life support system for past few days. The younger brother of former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Gurdas alias Daas Ji, was elected to fifth Lok Sabha from the erstwhile Fazilka Lok Sabha seat in 1971 as an Akali Dal Candidate.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister, in her tweet said, Deeply saddened at the passing away of our beloved chacha ji S. Gurdas Singh Badal ji. His kindness, warmth and humility will always be missed. May Gurusahib grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to all in the family to withstand this tragic loss. 

Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh has condoled the death of Gurdas Badal. Captain Amrinder Singh, in a tweet said, Deeply saddened to learn of the passing away of S. Gurdas Singh Badal. Join my colleague Manpreet Badal and the family in this moment of grief. May the Almighty grant liberation to the departed soul. Rest in peace!

Mr. K.B.S. Sidhu, Special Chief Secretary, Punjab in his tweet said,  The Final Adieu: Am heartbrokenCrying face— was praying and hoping against hope. What a noble soul he was— may Waheguru grant peace to the departed soul & strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss Our sincerest & heartfelt condolences. Gurdas ji Badal RIP

His last rites will be performed at his ancestral village Badal in Muktsar district at 1 pm on Friday, a close aide of Manpreet said.

Manpreet urged his supporters to refrain from attending the funeral due to the ongoing pandemic outbreak.“Keeping in view the current pandemic, we will like to request all friends and well wishers to refrain from attending the funeral ceremony which will be held in our ancestral village,” he wrote in a Twitter post. .
