Amidst Covid 2019 crisis , Learning Paths School , Mohali took a positive initiative to open its school library for the parents . In order to encourage reading and making it more purposeful, the books can now be borrowed on the name the ward/s.

The books will be issued through the library module available on school portal. The parents can browse the books available in the library through an online catalogue which allows the users to make a book search by author, title, publisher, subject and keywords. Informing about the protocol and safety , Robin Aggarwal , Director of the school stated, “ With certain specific guidelines , and safety measures we are making the process safe .

We are ensuring that the books are sanitized regularly , only 2 parents at a time visit the library to pick the books and the proper 48 hours quarantine of books on return followed by sanitization at the gate before it goes back to the library are some of the essential safety norms we are regulating. The entire process will be made be contact less for the parents and staff . We are looking at making for faciliteis available for parents after obtaining govt approvals.

We have also shared the idea and the online process with the other schools and most of them are keen to adopt the idea . “ Mental health is very important during Covid 19 crisis and inculcating the habit of reading their favourite books will only help children to remain positive. Books on parenting , health and other informative books will also help parents to gain knowledge”, stated Robin Aggarwal
