The artists of the Govt Sr Sec School Diwankhera village in Abohar area have returned after participating in the Rashtriya Kala Utsav held under the aegis of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in Odisha capital Bhubaneswar recently.
Deepak Kamboj, a celebrity writer and stage artist, who serves as a teacher and student Neha Kamboj, who topped in the state competition for solo play based on Amrita Pritam’s story, were also invited to attend the national festival being members of the Punjab team.
Deepak Kamboj said that in the festival, Punjab led with five awards. Neha left an indelible mark in the festival by her brilliant presentation of the solo play. After which the team was invited by the Prime Minister's Office for Republic Day, Pariksha Pe Charcha, Beating Retreat Ceremony, tea at the residence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and a tour of Delhi for 10 days. It was an unforgettable experience. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated in the programmes.
