7TH SJOBA RALLY CONCLUDES WITH PRIZE DISTRIBUTION

AARYAK RANA AND VIRENDER KASHYAP EMERGE WINNERS IN 4W CATEGORY, HAPPY VERMA IS 2W OVERALL WINNER

The 37th Edition of the SJOBA Motor Car Rally 2024 organised by St. John's Old Boys Association (SJOBA) has concluded. On this occasion, SJOBA held a prize distribution function at the Chandigarh Club in order to honor the participants for their distinguished performance in the rally. All the participants were in attendance. Founding President of SJOBA Mac Sarin was a prominent attendee and there were a host of other past Presidents of SJOBA also present.

In 4W; the overall winners were Aaryak Rana and Virender Kashyap from Himachal Pradesh. 1st runners-up were Daksh Gill and Binky Varghese, 2nd runners-up were Harpreet Bawa and Vikram. Happy Verma was the overall winner in the 2W category. The 1st runner-up was Suhail Ahmed and 2nd runner-up Nitish Bhardwaj. The team trophy for 4W went to Harjee Motorsports while the team trophy for 2W was won by TR2 Racing India.

 

Earlier 20 Extreme four wheelers – Jeeps in 4WD and cars in 2WD and 50 Extreme two wheelers, were flagged off from the start point –St John’s High School Chandigarh. It is to be noted that the rally was flagged off by Mac Sarin, Founding President of SJOBA and a renowned lawyer of the city.

Almasto Kapoor, President, SJOBA said, “We were able to deliver another successful edition of the SJOBA Motor Car Rally which is now an important calendar event of India's motor rallying circuit. 120 motorists faced 12 competition stages spread across three days. This year we witnessed participation of 2 women motorcyclists.”

SJOBA President Almasto Kapoor; Abhishek Misra, Secretary of SJOBA; the Clerk of the Course, SPS Ghai; Deputy Clerks’ of the Course -Shivam Garg & Naginder Singh and Danish Singh Mangat, Competitor Relationship Officer of the SJOBA Rally actively conducted the prize distribution ceremony along-with other SJOBA members.

Earlier 20 Extreme four wheelers – Jeeps in 4WD and cars in 2WD and 50 Extreme two wheelers, were flagged off from the start point –St John’s High School Chandigarh. It is to be noted that the rally was flagged off by Mac Sarin, Founding President of SJOBA and a renowned lawyer of the city.

The rally followed a route through regions of Punjab & ultimately reached the Flag-In point at St John's High School, Sec 26, Chandigarh.

It is pertinent to mention that some prestigious organisations like Punjab Tourism, Apollo Tyres, Paul Merchants and ESS Global had partnered with this year's rally.
